Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble!

I know this is long overdue, but I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We certainly had a fun time with our family and even got to see some friends. Does anyone have any special traditions you celebrate every year? Our Thanksgiving tradition on my husbands side is that we take a family picture to use for our holiday greeting cards.  I wanted to share this with everyone this year and will plan to do so every year.  And for those who haven't met me in person or would know which one is me, I am the one wearing the red sweater standing next to the handsome man (my husband) wearing green while holding our youngest, Gwen. My oldest daughter, Audrey, is the adorable little girl wearing black sitting in the middle of her 2 cousins on the playset! Enjoy!

Pitro family

With an energetic 2 year old little boy running around playing with his mom and dad, how could I not get so many beautiful moments?! Such a beautiful family on a beautiful fall day. The air was a bit chill but it didn't keep us from having fun and capturing these sweet photos.

Bailey family

I had a great time working with the Bailey family. We were a little cold, but the kids had fun jumping up and down and running around to keep warm! Here are some highlights from our session! Enjoy!

BF Newborn session

This sweet baby was so great to photograph! Mom and dad were great too! We all had a great time capturing some precious moments in this sweet little guys life. He even stayed awake for almost the whole session, but decided he had enough during the last 15 minutes! There were many favorites from this photo session and these are just a few.

Newborn editing

Hello! To all my photographer followers or photography lovers, this is a tip I learned from a webinar that I thought you might like:

When editing a newborn photograph, make sure to always check their feet and hands. Why? you wonder? Because newborns tend to have red, or sometimes purple hands and feet due to poor circulation. While this is normal, it might not look so great in a photo against the rest of the body's skin tone.  Lightroom has brushes you can use to fix the tone in particular areas. You can purchase brushes through "Pretty Presets", which I have done and they work great! Another tip on brushes themselves, if you are not familiar with using them, is to make sure you put the "feather" indicator at 100%. This allows for the area you're working on to blend in more naturally with the existing pixels around it.

Hope this helps anyone who's looking for some more tips! I will be posting more in the future, so keep checking back!

In light of the topic, I thought I'd repost a photo I did of a newborn that I absolutely love. I used an antique light filter on this photo which compliments newborns skin tone so well that it's one of my favorite filters to use!

Dobson Family

I had so much fun with these 2 boys. They really are true boys, they run fast, play hard, and climb trees! It was definitely a different atmosphere than what I'm used to with my own 2 girly girls.  I was able to capture some terrific moments and these are just some of my favorites!

Aucoin Family

An adorable 4 month old girl and a very energetic 3 year old boy made this photo shoot sweet and fun on this rather brisk November morning! Here are some of those sweet and fun moments ;)
